Itinerary

Discover, on a full-day excursion, the Torres del Paine National Park (Chile), often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Located in the heart of Southern Patagonia, approximately 300 km south of El Calafate, it is considered one of the most beautiful national parks on the planet due to its unique combination of mountains, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, flora, and wildlife.

Crossing the Patagonian steppe from north to south, we arrive at the Cancha Carrera border crossing after approximately 2h30. From there, we continue through the scenic landscapes of southern Chile until entering Torres del Paine National Park, whose name means “Blue” in the Tehuelche language, referring to the dominant color of its lakes.

Once inside the park, we make several scenic stops, some with short walks, to admire lakes, waterfalls, and panoramic viewpoints. Along the way, it is possible to spot guanacos, foxes, and—with some luck—pumas, among other native species.

We visit strategic locations where short, low-difficulty walks allow access to the most iconic viewpoints of the park’s natural attractions.

Departing from the surroundings of Cerro Castillo, we follow the road toward Lake Toro, skirting its shores until reaching the Serrano River. Along the route, enjoy panoramic views of Paine Grande and Admiral Nieto mountains, with a photo stop and distant views of the Grey Glacier.

Our next stop is Río Serrano Ranger Station, the southern entrance to the park, where park rangers control access. We then continue to Camping Pehoé, where there is time to enjoy a box lunch while taking in breathtaking views of the Cuernos del Paine.

Later, we arrive at Puerto Pudeto, the starting point of the trail leading to Salto Grande Waterfall. Weather permitting, we walk along the shores of Lake Pehoé to the lower viewpoint of the Cuernos del Paine. This walk is of low technical difficulty and minimal physical demand, accompanied by our CONAF-authorized trekking guide.

After the walk, we continue by vehicle to the upper viewpoint of Lake Nordenskjöld, passing by Laguna de los Cisnes and reaching Laguna Amarga, one of the most iconic panoramic points of the Torres del Paine towers.

We then continue to Cerro Castillo and return to El Calafate, arriving at hotels around 9:00 p.m.
