Itinerary
In El Calafate, in the majestic Argentine Patagonia, an unforgettable day awaits, filled with breathtaking landscapes and memorable experiences for the entire family. Explore the region’s rich history and immerse yourself in the beauty of one of the world’s most famous glaciers.
The tour begins with hotel pickup (for Airbnb guests, pickup location will be communicated the night before). We travel along Route 11 toward Los Glaciares National Park, passing stunning views of Lake Argentino, estancias, and mountains.
At the park entrance, the guide collects entrance fees for all participants (payment must be made in Argentine pesos at the park entrance; please check current rates). From there, it’s another 30-minute drive to the walkways, with glimpses of the glacier along the route.
Upon arrival at the walkways, the majestic Perito Moreno Glacier comes into full view. Walking along the trails, you may hear the cracks and falls of ice—a natural symphony that leaves a lasting impression. The glacier is one of the few in the world that is still advancing, ensuring that each falling ice fragment is quickly replaced by new ice.
Optional Boat Navigation
Guests who choose this option enjoy a 1-hour boat tour on Lake Argentino after exploring the walkways. Departing from Puerto Moreno at the base of the walkways on the Canal de los Témpanos, the boat quickly reaches the northern face of the glacier. The tour pauses near the area where the famous glacier break occurs, then continues along the full width of the northern wall, offering incredible views of its height and structure. The guide provides explanations and assistance throughout the ride, with opportunities to witness spectacular ice calving if conditions allow.
