Itinerary
Tierra del Fuego National Park is the southernmost national park on the planet and the only one in Argentina that combines mountains, forests, and sea. It is a must-do excursion for those who want to experience the pristine nature of the End of the World and learn about the region’s history.
We depart from the hotel towards Tierra del Fuego National Park. During the journey, an experienced guide shares information about the local history, wildlife, flora, and Fuegian geography.
We make a stop before entering the park at the End of the World Train Station. This stop may take place at the beginning, middle, or end of the tour. At this point, those who wish to take the train ride can purchase their tickets. On board the train, besides enjoying the scenery, you will learn about the history of the railway that once transported Ushuaia’s prisoners to the slopes of Mount Susana. The train ride lasts approximately 1 hour.
Those who do not wish to take the train can enjoy a short walk or take the opportunity to explore the charming station and listen to the guide’s explanation about the railway’s history.
After the train returns and the group is complete, we begin the park tour: a route of about 30 km with stops at specific viewpoints for sightseeing.
Our next stop is Lake Roca, also known as Acigami. There, you can see part of the Chilean mountain range and enjoy the beauty of the lake and forest, as well as take a walk along the shore.
We continue along the dirt road, enjoying beautiful landscapes until we reach the park’s restaurant, which in addition to offering cakes, coffee, and drinks with a great view, also houses the Alakushi Indigenous Interpretation Museum.
We return to the road and head towards one of the most iconic places in the park: the famous Lapataia Bay. Upon arrival, there is a sign with interesting facts about the area, including the end point of the southernmost highway in the world, Route 3. It is the perfect place to feel literally at the “End of the World.” A short walk leads to a viewpoint where the best view of the bay can be enjoyed.
After this beautiful tour, we return to Ushuaia.
