Itinerary
This tour offers a beautiful perspective of what is known as the “End of the World,” where the southernmost landscapes give way to the Antarctic ice.
The navigation begins at the Ushuaia tourist port, in the Beagle Channel. An imaginary line divides the channel between Argentina and Chile, so while we sail through Argentine waters, we also enjoy views of the Chilean mountains and islands.
At the start of the journey, we admire Ushuaia Bay and its privileged location, surrounded by impressive mountains and glaciers. This scenery also invites us to imagine the arrival of the first European ships and the fires lit by native peoples to keep warm, which gave rise to the name Tierra del Fuego.
Along the way, we pass Bird Island, where we can observe several Fuegian seabirds such as skuas, albatrosses, gulls, geese, and ducks.
We then reach the famous Sea Lion Island, home to two species of sea lions. Nearby, it is also common to see cormorants, often mistaken for penguins.
Continuing the navigation, we arrive at the iconic Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, where there are colonies of imperial and rock cormorants.
Throughout the entire tour, the guide shares information about the local history, wildlife, and the islands we see.
On the return, we sail along the Argentine coast, passing Playa Larga and the port.
