Itinerary
Our boat will depart from Punta Bandera Port and immediately enter the Canal de Los Témpanos on Lake Argentino. The first stop (no disembarkation) will be in front of “Punta Bandera,” a historic site where Francisco Pascasio Moreno baptized Lake Argentino on February 15, 1877. A mast marks this important place in Argentine history, and the boat guide will explain its significance. We will continue navigating into Seno Mayo on Lake Argentino.
1st Stop – Bahía Toro
We will disembark at Bahía Toro and, accompanied by the guide, take an interpretive walk through the Patagonian Andean forest to reach a waterfall. From the lake shore, we will be able to see the hanging glaciers of Cerro Mayo and Cerro Negro. Then, we will return to the boat and continue to our next stop.
2nd Stop – Cerro Negro
We will disembark at Cerro Negro and, with the guide, start a walk through the Patagonian Andean forest, following a river that leads to the base of Cerro Negro. Here, we will admire the stunning Black Glacier, a hanging glacier with numerous waterfalls that feed the river we followed during our walk. After enjoying the scenery, we will return to the boat to head to our next destination.
3rd Stop – Perito Moreno Glacier
Resuming navigation, we leave Seno Mayo and return to the Canal de Los Témpanos. During this part of the tour, you can have lunch on board (bring your own food). In a few minutes, we will begin to see the north face of the Perito Moreno Glacier. We will sail slowly in front of the glacier wall and then disembark at Puerto Moreno to visit the walkways and admire the glacier from different viewpoints. At the appointed time, we will return to the boat and sail back to Punta Bandera Port.
