Itinerary
This tour starts in Calafate. We will travel along Ruta 40, passing through the Leona River canyon and heading towards El Chaltén.
Once in the national trekking capital, we will take the path to Lago del Desierto, bordering the Rio de las Vueltas and crossing the Nothofagus forest. We approach the border with Chile, to take a boat at Lago del Desierto that will allow us to see the last glaciers from the air from the lake. During navigation, we will have a quick snack and, without disembarking, we will return to the southern tip. Once there, we will prepare to start a 45-minute walk to reach the base of the Glacier and Laguna Huemul.
After the descent, a country snack awaits us to recover our energy and begin the return to El Calafate.
