Itinerary
The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the most impressive natural landmarks in Patagonia — and this tour lets you experience it in the most intense way possible.
The adventure begins at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, where you board a boat for a 20-minute navigation across the Brazo Rico, getting incredibly close to the glacier’s towering ice wall.
After disembarking, certified mountain guides equip the group with crampons and organize small groups (up to 10 people) for the glacier trek. Once on the ice, the landscape completely changes: deep blue lagoons, crevasses, sinkholes, and stunning ice formations shape a surreal environment.
The guided trek on the glacier lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes. During the walk, guides explain the region’s glaciology, local fauna and flora, and the famous rupture phenomenon of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
There is time to rest, take photos, and enjoy the unique experience of being seated directly on the glacier (snacks not included).
After the trek, the group returns by boat and continues to the walkways, where you’ll have approximately 1 hour to admire the glacier from panoramic viewpoints before heading back to El Calafate.
