Itinerary
We will depart from El Calafate towards the Cancha Carrera border post (Chile).
We will make our first stop here to carry out migration procedures and leave Argentina.
During the way to the border, we will have the opportunity to be dazzled by the authentic Patagonian steppe and contemplate how the landscape changes, with the glacial sculpting of the undulating mountains, the silhouette of underground rivers crossing the fields, and, like on a great safari, we may be surprised by the quantity and variety of native animals.
Once we have crossed the border, we will continue our trip to Torres del Paine National Park along a farm path, with views of Cerro Castillo across El Bote Bay. Approximately 45 minutes later, on the banks of the largest lake in the region, we will arrive at the Gray viewpoint, the first of many incredible landscapes that this adventure will provide us with.
From this viewpoint, we will be able to observe Lake Toro, with the Paine massif with several of its main peaks in the background. After taking photos and enjoying the environment, we will continue our journey, entering the national park through the Rio Serrano Gate (entrance control, bathroom area).
We will continue our journey to the viewpoints within the park, such as Pehoe and Salto Grande. We will take a walk to reach the Mirante Cuernos (1h), where we will have a privileged view of the scenery and one of the best places to appreciate the Cuernos del Paine in a unique way. Our route will take us to Nordenskjold Lake, and then we will head towards the Laguna Amarga Port (bathroom area), on a path famous for its rich fauna, where we will be able to see guanacos, emus, as well as eagles and falcons. If we’re lucky, we might even spot condors. After this tour, we will follow the southwest path to Puerto Natales, where we will stay. After that, we will have a free night to enjoy.
NOTE: It is the passenger’s responsibility to have the necessary documentation to enter in Chile.
After breakfast, we will leave with the team towards Bernardo O’Higgins National Park, the largest in Chile and one of the four largest in the world. We will explore the imposing Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers, accessible only by sea. We will see the immensity of the forest meet the South Pacific, as well as observe sea lions and cormorants. We will cross the Canal da Última Esperança, where, five centuries ago, Magalhães passed for the first and last time. We will be able to observe waterfalls and even the famous condor cliff, from where we will see the impressive glacial wall, more than 2 km high.
After enjoying these incredible landscapes, we will have a whiskey with glacial ice as an aperitif and then enjoy a good lamb barbecue at Estancia Perales.
After this delicious meal, we will return to the departure port and then return to El Calafate.
