Itinerary

The most spectacular and unforgettable trek in Patagonia! Teste

Laguna de los Tres is a classic in El Chaltén that is one of the most beautiful viewpoints due to the panoramic views from Fitz Roy. Although it is one of the longest trails, the finish is worth it.

The tour starts at 06:00, after picking you up at your accommodation in El Calafate and then following the mythical Ruta 40, bordering Lake Argentino, towards the town of El Chaltén, 220 km from El Calafate.

Our guides will accompany you on the Fitz Roy Trail for 8 hours, covering a total of 20 km until reaching an altitude of 1,200 meters.

You will pass through different scenarios, some more wooded, others more arid, and with water mirrors until you reach Laguna de los Tres. We will provide crampons and poles so you can walk safely.

The first 4 kilometers will be for warming up, with an incredible view of the Rio Elétrico Valley, crossing the forest until you find the Piedras Blancas Glacier.

Afterwards, you will continue along the same trail until km 8, where you will find Camping Poincenot, and here the most difficult kilometers begin. At this stage, we recommend paying attention to the time, as to descend back to the village from Laguna de los Tres, the estimated time is approximately 4 hours. The return trail goes through the forest by Laguna Capri; we suggest paying attention to the only diversion point. Do not follow another trail, as, in case of search or rescue, the recommended path is via Laguna Capri.

At 6:00 pm, there will be a reunion in the town, at the Rancho Grande meeting point.
